Brazil – Reminder on New Visitor Visa Requirements for Citizens of Australia, Canada, and the United States Traveling to Brazil

Starting from April 10th, 2025, passport holders from Australia, Canada, and the United States are required to apply for an eVisa to enter Brazil as a visitors for business or tourism for a stay that will not exceed 90 days. The Government of Brazil reinstated a visa requirement for these nationals, with an option for an eVisa for qualified applicants. If you already possess a valid physical visa in your passport for your visit’s purpose, you do not need to apply for a new visa. For those from the United States, Canada or Australia entering Brazil by air, sea, or land, there is now an online eVisa application form accessible here. You will create an account and provide the application details, upload the necessary documents, and pay the fee. Upon processing, you will need to download and print the eVisa.
The average processing time for eVisa applications is up to 5 business days. You can enter Brazil at any time within the validity period of the eVisa, starting from the date it is issued. An individual eVisa is required for each traveler, including infants and children. Please ensure that the information provided matches the details on your travel document and it is recommended that your passport be valid for at least 6 months with still two visa pages free.
