The prevailing wage rates under the National Occupational Classification (NOC) have been updated. Employers who hire temporary foreign workers on LMIA-based work permits must review current wages and make any necessary adjustments to align with the newly published annual rates. You can access the updated wage information here: https://www.jobbank.gc.ca/trend-analysis/search-wages.

While not every occupation experienced a change, many did. If a worker’s current pay falls below the updated prevailing wage for their NOC, employers are required to increase salaries to meet or exceed the new standard. These adjustments must be implemented no later than January 1, 2026.

Failure to comply may result in penalties under the Temporary Foreign Worker Program’s employer compliance framework, which can include monetary fines and restrictions on program participation.
